In honor or MLK Day - I present to you what has been referred to only as, The Picture.  Over a year ago in Flint, Michigan - Kate and I went to the Children’s Museum with our friends Stephen and Pam.  Stephen said “Hey Dave, you’ve got Malcolm X glasses - go get your picture as Martin Luther King Jr.”  I obliged, as Kate got in position to take a picture, an unattended child was eye balling me and slowly sauntered near.  Right as Kate snapped a picture of me - the child decided to - without breaking eye contact with me - lift his shirt and then simply, walk away.  Here is that moment.  Enjoy.

great photo. great story. god bless america

SKUMMMIE:  How would you describe your art style and what influences have helped shape that style?

CRYFACE:  My style is a bit comic book and a bit low brow. my big influences coop, Pushead, Rob Zombie and a plethora of horror movies, comic books, and Saturday morning cartoons.

SKUMMIE:  Share a bit about your history with TMNT.

CRYFACE:  I have been a huge fan of TMNT since it came out. I watched the cartoon every day, saw the first 2 movies in the theater, had almost all of the action figures, and loved the comics. Something about the imagery and craziness of it has always captured my imagination.

SKUMMIE: Did you think the Wyrm was initially ill-designed and have always wanted to improve on it?

CRYFACE: I think the design is fine and didn’t really feel the need to improve on it. personally  i have a huge fear of worms so I think that has kept me fascinated with the character.

You can follow more of CRYFACE’S work at:

We encourage you to reblog and share each post with others, of course, but we also encourage you to check out the various artists through the links we provide.  Follow them, support them, encourage them, and buy stuff from them.

    whoa, this figure/character came
